Peter William Morelli, 63, of Florence, S.C., died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at his residence after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Queens, N.Y., son of the late Clifford and Leah Erkenbrack Morelli. He was the former chairman of the United Transportation Union, Local 1558 in New Jersey, and enjoyed post retirement work at the Florence Post Office and The Book Exchange. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Olenka Morelli of Florence, S.C.; three siblings and spouses, Danny and Eileen Morelli of New Jersey; Lisa and John Bertinelli of New Jersey; Roger and Debbie Morelli of New York State; four nieces and nephews, Jady, Tony, Lauren, and Michael Morelli. Peter loved to play golf and watch his beloved NY Yankees and NY Giants. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Cain Funeral Home in Florence.
