Peggy Moore Summerford, 88, of Florence, SC, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on October 14, 2024.  Peggy was born in Lake City, SC, the daughter of the late BW Moore and Lila Mae Moore Jeffords.  She was a homemaker who took great joy in taking care of her family.  She also taught a Sunday School class at Calvary Baptist Church in her earlier years for the Special Needs Children, of which her son, Robert "Bingo" Gary Summerford was also a member.   She loved cooking, gardening and had a hobby of doing beautiful needle point pictures as well as painting pictures.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Mays Summerford; her son, Robert "Bingo" Gary Summerford; and a brother, Benjamin Warren Moore, Jr.

Surviving are her two children, Douglas (Kay) Warren Summerford of Florence and Lisa Barbour Coleman of the home who was the fulltime caregiver for her mother; four grandchildren, Carl (Sarah) Barbour, Tabitha Conyers, Heather Rogers and Josh (Brooke) Summerford; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Letty Moore Hall of Columbia and Judy Moore Alexander of Florida; one niece and two nephews.
