A funeral service for Peggy Hendrickson Sprague, M.D.will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 19, 2009, in Darlington Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Kevin Cauley. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM tonight at Cain Funeral Home. She was born May 31, 1922, in Darlington, to the late George B. and Helen M. Hendrickson. Dr. Sprague was a graduate of Duke University and the Medical University of South Carolina. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Florence and was very instrumental in the arts community in Florence. Dr. Sprague was owner and director of the first Florence Regional Civic Ballet Co. She was also active in Florence Little Theater as a board member, director, and actor. She co-owned Hendrickson's Dress Shop with her mother. Surviving, are: daughter, Vicki S. Church of Roswell, GA, grandchildren, Blake and Brad Church both of Roswell, GA, cousin, Doris (Bruce) Watterworth of Darlington, SC, and a very special friend and companion of 45 years, Mary Frances Johnson of Timmonsville, SC.
