Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Patricia Coggins Suber, 86, went home to be with Jesus on February 1, 2023, at McLeod Health Clarendon, in Manning, South Carolina.

A private family-centered memorial service is being held at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home in Florence on February 11, 2023.

Patty was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Walter J. Suber while attending Spartanburg High School. After Dr. Suber completed his schooling in Podiatry, they moved together to Florence in 1960, where they lived for sixty years. There they raised three children, Laura, John, and Cameron.

Patty was active early on in the Junior League of Florence, the Florence Garden Club, and later, she graduated from Bible School in 1984. Although not formally trained, she possessed a natural ability for interior decorating. Her special eye for and appreciation of antiques resulted in many weekend travel trips with her husband, where they would purchase inventory for her small home-based antique furniture business that they ran together in the 1980s.

In 2020, Walter and Patty moved to their lake home on Lake Marion in Summerton, under the full-time care of their son, Cameron. The home has been a frequent family get-away for over fifty years.

Patty dedicated her life to her husband of seventy years, their family, and her Christian faith. She was well known for her love of Jesus and dependence on Him in both good and difficult times. Patty was a passionate prayer warrior who routinely lifted up her husband, three children and their spouses, and six grandchildren to the LORD.

She is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Walter (87); three children and their spouses, Laura Suber McLeod and Amos McLeod of Florence, Dr. John and Kristi Suber of Greenville, and Cameron Suber of Florence; and six grandchildren: Hannah, Reagan, Luke, Ethan Suber, and Etta and Louisa McLeod.

She is predeceased in death by her parents, William T. and Olive Coggins, and her brother, William T. Coggins, Jr.
