Opal Dianne DeWitt Evans, 70, of Florence, SC, died on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Carolinas Hospital. Born in McColl, SC, she was a daughter of the late Allen Alford and Inez Herring Hoagland. She is also predeceased by two husbands, E.W. Dewitt and Fleming Evans, her sister, Doris June Neal, and her step-father, Nicholas Hoagland. She is survived by her son, Edward (Penny) DeWitt, and her daughter, Marlana "Martie" Haselden, both of Pamplico, SC; one brother, Billy (Mary) Alford of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Brittany) Tanguay and Whitman Tanguay; and two great-granchildren, Laisey Tanguay and Cohen Tanguay. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, just prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial directed by Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home will follow the service at Woodside Cemetery in Pamplico, SC.
