O'Neal "Bubba" Wood, 69, of Florence, S.C., died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence. He was born in Denmark, S.C., a son of the late Kenneth and Pearl Rowell Wood. Mr. O'Neal Wood retired from Seaboard Coastline, as a roadway track welder. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, and enjoyed restoring antique cars. He is predeceased by his parents and a brother, Jerry Wood. Mr. Wood is survived by one son, Mikell (Cindy) Wood of Effingham, S.C.; one daughter, Donna (Melvin) Cantley of Coward, S.C.; two sisters, Joann Sturkie and Cindy Register, both of Darlington, S.C.; two brothers, Ronnie Wood of Timmonsville, S.C.; Randy Wood of Darlington, S.C.; five grandchildren, Mikle Nevels, Dayton Cantley, Rhonda Carraway, Nicholas Wood and Ashlyn Wood. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 7-9:00 P.M. at Cain Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Florence Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
