Norma Leach Meggs, 68, of Florence, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 9, 2018, at MUSC after a long illness. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Sunday, February 11 at Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 12 at Effingham Presbyterian Church, 526 E. Effingham Hwy, with burial immediately following at Hewitt Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Benjamin Robert (Rob) Meggs, Jr., of Florence; son, Benjamin Robert Meggs, III, of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, and son-in-law, Drs. Amy Meggs Flandry (Robert) of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Alvin Leach (Joyce), and a sister-in-law, Darline Leach, all of Evergreen; grandchildren, Abigail, Robert and Adelle Flandry of Spartanburg; and several beloved nieces and a nephew. She is predeceased by her parents, Norman and Blondell Turner Leach, and a brother, Paul Ray Leach. Norma graduated from Southside High School, Class of 1967, and attended Francis Marion. She worked for Pee Dee Education Center for a number of years, and retired from USPS as a rural letter carrier. She was an active member of Effingham Presbyterian Church where she taught in the Fellowship of Friends, sang in the choir, and was Church Treasurer for 37 years.
