Natalie Virginia Lockhart Summerlin, 83, of Timmonsville, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022.  She was born in Wirt County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Orval and Dorothy Bradley Lockhart.  Mrs. Summerlin attended school through the 9th grade and then left school to help take care of her younger siblings and to work.  She worked as a floor supervisor at a garment factory where she met her husband, Melvin Edward Summerlin, while he was making deliveries to the factory.  She left West Virginia and moved to Florence where she worked at a couple of local garment factories in the Florence area.  Most recently she cleaned homes for Southern Pines until she retired.  Mrs. Summerlin was a hard-working person who never sat still.  She was a member of Southway Church of God and attended Trinity UMC in Darlington.  She loved quilting, sewing, cooking, her flowers, and her family.

Mrs. Summerlin is predeceased by her parents; her husband Melvin Summerlin; a son, Kelvin W. Summerlin; and three brothers, Lonnie Lockhart, Odis Dorr Lockhart and Weyman Lee "Buck" Lockhart.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela S. Edwards (David); son, Melvin Ray Summerlin; grand-daughter, Natalie Sophia Edwards; and five siblings, Edna May Cooper, Joseph Lockhart (Sharon), Cheryl Denning (Don), Charles V. Cain and Linda Barnette; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in the Summerlin Family Cemetery in Seven Springs, NC.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  Tyndall Funeral Home is assisting with the service in North Carolina.
