Nancy Player Russell, 58, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023.  She was born in Florence, the daughter of Geraldine Crosby Player and the late Jessie Player.  In addition to her father, she is predeceased by a brother, Terry Player and a nephew, Grayson Morrison.

Nancy was a member of Effingham Church of God and she loved her church.  She was outgoing, kindhearted and loved animals, especially her puppy, Toby.

Surviving is her mother, Geraldine; two brothers, Donnie Player (Debbie) and Kenneth Player (Diane); a number of special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and her loving puppy, Toby, "her baby".

The family will hold a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Effingham Church of God.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Player family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, 512 2nd Loop Road, Florence, SC  29505, to assist the family with the arrangements.
