Darlington, SC Nancy Caldwell Camp, 84, of Darlington, S.C., died Monday, October 20, 2014, at Bethea Baptist Home in Darlington. She was born in Spartanburg, S.C., daughter of the late Marvin and Sarah Norman Caldwell. She wed George Mason Camp on November 20, 1948, in Spartanburg, SC, and they were married for 57 years until he died in 2006. She and her husband George lived in Marion from 1956 until 2000, where she was a member of First Methodist Church, before relocating to Florence. She was a homemaker who always put her family first. She loved having family gatherings and her grandchildren. She believed in traditions and maintaining our connections to our ancestors and for those who made it possible for us to enjoy the life we have today. Her hobbies included sewing, needlepoint and baking. Her favorite recipe was Toll House cookies with her own spices. Mrs. Camp is predeceased by her parents, her husband, George Mason Camp, a son, Timothy Robert Camp, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by one son, David Michael (Ellen) Camp of Mesa, Arizona; one daughter, Rebecca Camp (Joe) Harlan of Florence, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Harlan, Ben Harlan, Andrew Harlan, Sarah Harlan, Matthew Camp, Katie Camp and her husband Paul Delporto, and Robbie Camp; one great-grandchild, Piper Grace Solyan. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Bethea Baptist Home chapel, 157 Home Avenue, Darlington, SC. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 A.M. in the chapel prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 87, Florence, S.C. 29503.
