Myles J.
Sallack
May 29, 1925 – September 24, 2016
Myles J. Sallack, age 91, was born in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania and lived in Kane, Pennsylvania for 40 years. Recipient of a Bronze Star, 95th Infantry Division, during WWII in Europe, he went on to earn a degree in civil engineering at Penn State in 1950. A registered professional engineer, he spent his career in the pulp and paper industry, retiring in 1987. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Ann McConnell Sallack, his sister Eva Goodwin and his brothers Earl Sallack and John Sallack. He is survived by his brother Vernon Sallack of St. Marys, Pennsylvania, his daughters Mary Ann Schumpert of Lugoff, South Carolina and Leah (Larry) Pileggi of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, grandchildren Molly Carter, Sean Catoe, Andrew Catoe and Hannah Pileggi and great-grandchildren Xadia Williams and Ava Carter. A resident of Florence, South Carolina since 1994, he was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2016 in the Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
