Monroe Bryant Hudson, 78, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.  He was born in Florence, a son of the late Mack Monroe Hudson and Margaret Bryant Hudson.  He is also predeceased by a son, David Blake Hudson.

He was a graduate of Southside High School.  Bryant was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the US Army.  He was a deacon at Ridgecrest Baptist Church and sang in the choir.  He worked and retired after 30 plus years from the City of Florence and he loved fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Bryant is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda Fay Goss Hudson; son, James Wade Hudson (Kristy); two grandchildren, Taylor Marie Hudson and Timothy Trace Hudson; a sister, "Orti" Orthalia Tucker (Ronnie); two nieces, Tashua Wolford and Brandi Stafford (Kenneth); two nephews, Kevin Broach (Brittany) and Stewart Broach (Beth); and two sisters-in-law, Pat Munn (Bobby) and Linda Broach (Ronald); and numerous great nieces and nephews.  .

A funeral service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with burial and Military Honors to follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
