Monika Marie Tart, 70, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House.  She was born in Rinteln, Germany, a daughter of the late Hilmar Von Mὓnchhausen and Johanna Preller Von Mὓnchhausen.

Monika came to the US at the age of 16 and graduated from NC State University.  Monika sold insurance and worked for Michelin as a translator.  She loved her grandchildren, snow skiing and the ocean.  She never met a stranger.

She is survived by her husband, David Nelson Tart; daughter, Natalie Dawn Tart Hooker (Mark); son, Nelson Tart (Jenni); and three grandchildren, Drew Kailey Hooker, Grayson Hooker and Elvie Tart.

A memorial service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Palmetto Street Church of God.  The family will speak to friends following the service at the church.
