Mildred Stokes Tyner, 95, passed away on June 7, 2020.  She was born May 16, 1925, in Darlington, SC, to Effie and Clarence Stokes.  She is survived by three sons; Joseph W. (Ellen) Tyner, Jr. of Florence, James E. (Dorothy) Tyner of Ridgeway, and Richard E. (Cynthia) Tyner of Florence; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by siblings, Louise Stokes, Uldine Capell and Bennie Stokes.  She was married to Wallace Tyner in April of 1947 until his death in December of 2000.  She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary until her retirement.  She was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church in Florence where she served as Church Librarian.  She never drank iced tea, but coffee was a must.

A private graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
