Florence, SC Mildred Flowers Moore, 85, of Florence, SC, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Moore was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late John Thomas and Lula Hyman Flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert L. Moore; brothers, James T. Flowers, Adolph Flowers, Lawrence B. Flowers, Robert Flowers, Hubert Flowers, John H. Flowers and Joe Flowers. Mrs. Moore was a graduate of JC Lynch School in Coward, SC. She worked many years with different grocery stores as a bookkeeper. She also was employed for many years with Tyndall's Bridal Shop. Mrs. Moore was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Florence. Surviving are her son, Danny L. (Donna) Moore of Florence; daughters, Diana Moore Graham (fiancé Howard Purvis) of Summerton SC and Deborah M. (Terrell) Moss of Florence; a sister, Shirley F. Cox of Florence; grandchildren, Samantha M. (Edward) Parker, Traci M. (Kent) Summersett, Heith L. (Antonia) Moore, Lawson Daniel Moore, Christy L. Graham, Amanda M. Graham, Lindsey M. Busch (fiancé Albert Watford), Elliott Moss (fiancée Jennifer Sellers); and fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at home, 2346 Cascade Avenue, Florence, SC, from 12:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014, from 1:30 until 3:00 PM, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 524 S. Ebenezer Road, Florence, SC, 29501. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Cain Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to McLeod Hospice.
