Michael Ray
Roush
April 4, 2025
Florence — We celebrate the life of Michael Ray Roush, who passed away on April 6th, 2025. He passed peacefully in his home from long-term medical conditions. His wonderful wife, Sally, was by his side. Mike was born in 1941 to Meryl and Mildred Roush (both deceased) from Lima, Ohio. He shared his parents with his sister, Linda Morgan. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1961 and was then called to service with the Army for two years. He was a member of the 1st Cavalry Division. He was a Vietnam Veteran. After returning home from the service to his country, Mike started his career with Sprint as a lineman. He retired from Sprint after 30+ years with the company. Mike was incredibly blessed to have had not one but two loves in his life. In 1969, he married Darla Dawn Weasel, and they had two children, Shawn Michael Roush and Sara Dawn Roush. Darla passed away in 1992 tragically in a car accident. Love found Mike again when he met Sally Merritt Roush, and they married in 2010. They spent their time living at Indian Lake, where they enjoyed the lake life, boating and fishing and being with friends and family. Mike was a lifetime member of the VFW, the Eagles and the Moose lodges. In 2024, they moved to Florence, South Carolina. Mike's family grew to include Sally's children, grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was exceptionally proud of his grandson, Grayson Roush. He was blessed to have many nieces and nephews and sister and brothers-in-law that he loved dearly. His family has hearts full of cherished memories of a wonderful man who meant so much to so many people. Michael's family will remember him always until they meet again. His wife, Sally Merritt Roush, Shawn (son) and Dawn (daughter in law) Roush, Grayson Roush (grandson). Sara Roush-Stapleton (daughter) and Dusti Stapleton (daughter in law).
