A funeral service for Mertice Ruth Alice Bryant Edwards will be at 11:00AM Saturday June 26, 2010 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Florence Memorial Gardens conducted by her nephew, Rev. John L. Bryant, Jr and Rev. Ben Maynard. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00PM at Cain Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association -SC Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd, Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621. Ms. Edwards, 78, died June 23, 2010, in a local nursing home. She was born May 12, 1932 in Latta, SC, youngest of eight children of the late John Henry and Alice Celia Hulon Bryant. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Roland, Loris, H.B. and Earl Bryant; sisters, Mamie B. Huggins, Bertha B. Dillon and Leila B. Hammonds. Ms. Edwards was a graduate of Latta High School. She first worked for Marlowe Manufacturing and later for 35 years with K-Mart Department Store, before retiring. She was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Surviving are: daughters, Patsy Ann Bescher Trussell, Alice Cottros, Jeanette (Kerry) Kale and Debbie Stokes; son, Enos Edwards Jr. all of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Renee Bescher (Richard) Jones, Chris Bescher, Amy Timmons (Mark) Miyasaki, Sydney Kale, Amanda Kale, Craig Stokes, Lance Edwards and Myra Edwards; great-grandchildren, Bradley Jones and Jayden Bescher
