A memorial service for Mrs. Maude Eleice Greer Marner, widow of Alfred William Marner, will be at 7:00 PM, Monday October 5, 2009 in Cain Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Richard Archer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately after the service. Ms. Marner, 87, died Thursday September 24, 2009, in a local hospital. She was born, June 14, 1922 in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada, to the late Sheldon Matthew and Elsie Ayre Greer. She was also predeceased by a son, John William Davidson Marner. Mrs. Marner was a master gardener and had a great interest in people and working in social causes. She served in the Royal Canadian Air Force where she met her late husband. She also did volunteer work for many organizations such as; Literacy, Mental health Association, A.A.R.P liason, Treasurer for Master Gardners, L.I.N.C., CHOICES, Eldergarten, Four H 4H, Redcross, and the Cranbrook Herbarium in West Bloomfield, MI.
