A funeral service for Mary Helen Riffe, wife of Rev. Benjamin C.Riffe will be at 11:00AM Friday February 19, 2010 in the Mt. Hope Mausoleum Chapel conducted by Rev. Vernon R. Lebuhn, Sr. Entombment in the Mount Hope Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM Thursday at Cain Funeral Home. Mrs. Riffe, 84, died Monday February 15, 2010, in a local hospital. She was born June 30, 1925 in Tazewell, VA and was raised by Clifford and Margaret Norris following the death of her mother. Mrs. Riffe received nursing degree from Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where she was a nurse and did private duty nursing. She moved to Florence in 1994 and was a member of Palmetto Street Church of God. Surviving, in addition to her husband are: daughters, Benita Long of Manchester, MD, Betty Goldman of Blairsville, GA, Sue Riordan and Christina Edwards both of Florence, SC; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
