Margaret Elizabeth "Peg" Kramer Hodes, formerly of Catasauqua, PA, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at McLeod Hospice in Florence, SC. Born September 17, 1917, in Perkasie, PA. She was the daughter of the late Franklin U. and Elizabeth Moyer Kramer. She was the widow of Paul E. Hodes, Sr. Mrs. Hodes worked as a dental assistant in Pennsylvania for many years. She loved to cook, play the organ, and visit with her many family members. She knitted and crocheted many blankets and booties for the many children in her life. She was a member of Hokendauqua Presbyterian Church for almost 60 years. She is survived by her daughter Judith (Randy) Kern of Florence, SC; her grandchildren, Rebecca (Joe) Peery, RJ (Kelly) Kern, Wendy (Jeff) Seip, Monica (Mariano) Vazquez, Holly (Tom) Reed, David (Erica) Hodes, and Jennifer Apgar; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Capaldi, Nancy Hunsicker, Mary Lou Miller, Patsy Blake, and Jennifer Harr; daughters-in-law, Evelyn Hodes and Veronica Hodes, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Paul E. Hodes, Jr., and David James Hodes, her sisters, Joyce Oettel, Hope Mood, Barbara Jacobs, and her brothers, Charles "Dick" Kramer and William Kramer. Friends will be received by the family in a memorial visitation on Sunday, July 1, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the home of her daughter. A memorial service will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.
