Mary "Vicki" Johnson Curl, 82, of Florence, S.C. , widow of Lonnie B. Curl, Sr., died Monday, July 30, 2012 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Curl was born in Gastonia, N.C. on April 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Fannie Berry Johnson. She was a graduate of Wingate College and was employed as an instructor for Florence Vocational Rehabilitation. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 48 years. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed cooking. She served in many local organizations including, the Florence Women's Club, the Pilots' Club, The Red Hats, and the V.F.W. She is survived by her children, Peggy Curl Blackwell of Folly Beach, S.C.; Lonnie B. Curl, Jr. and his wife Anita Curl, John C. Curl and his wife Kathleen Curl, of Florence, S.C. ; eight grandchildren, Devlin Curl, Kreston Curl, Emery Curl, Gabriel Curl, Kristen Daniel Floyd, Tiffany Necole Watkins, Jennifer Evan (Curl) Moore, Catherine Curl, and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded is death by her daughter, Nelda Floyd Watkins. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 6-8:00 PM at Cain Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church, 700 Park Avenue, Florence S.C. A private interment will be held at a later date in Florence National Cemetery.
