Mary M. Dodge of Florence, SC, went to her eternal home on May 2, 2015, in Columbia, Maryland, near her daughter's home. She was born on January 8, 1924, in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Nicholas Micucci and Sarah Battleman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Malcolm J. Dodge and a daughter, Janis Dodge Buchleitner, who died in 1976. Survivors are a son, Paul Dodge (wife Susan) of Cape Coral, FL, and a daughter, Diana Dodge Young (husband John) of Laurel, MD, six grandchildren; Lisa Buchleitner Martinez (husband Polo), Christian Buchleitner (wife Carolyn), Kellie Dodge and Jessica, Darren and Nelson Young, as well as five great-grandchildren; John, Christian and Jackson Buchleitner and Abraham and Mateo Martinez; a sister, Catherine Nicholas and a brother, Daniel Micucci. Mary was a devoted wife and loving mother. She attended Pisgah United Methodist Church in Florence for many years and was a woman of steadfast faith. She enjoyed serving as president5 of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks Lodge #1020 in Florence and served for many years as their Chaplain. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her strength of character, stoic independence, vivacious personality, and by entertaining others singing and playing her guitar. Her family feels richly blessed that she enjoyed a full, healthy and happy life for 91 years, serving as a true inspiration to us all. We will long cherish her memory. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 14, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home with burial following at Florence National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a contribution in Mary's memory be made to either the Pisgah United Methodist Church, 621 North Ebenezer Road, Florence, SC 29501, or to the Elks Lodge #1020, PO Box 5714, Florence, SC 29502.
