Martha Louise Poley, 85, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House. She was born in Pleasantville, NJ, a daughter of the late John Henry Fox and Mary Ellen Astin Fox. She is predeceased by her parents and a sister, Bonita Maxwell. Martha was retired from Prudential Insurance Company where she worked as a claims adjuster. She was a past President and retired from the Insurance Women of Atlantic County in NJ. She was a member of the Order of the Easter Star #69 when she lived in NJ, where she was a past Worthy Matron. She was a member of Tabernacle/Dawsey United Methodist Church and volunteered at McLechran Senior Center. Martha was an avid reader. She is survived by her daughter, Carole A. Taylor and son, Richard J. (Crystal) Poley; four grandsons, Bryan (Jessica) Poley, Michael Poley, David (Lacie) Poley and their mother, Deborah Poley, and Joshua Taylor; step grandchildren, Brittany and Jonathon Owens, Nikki (Fred) Munoz, Jessica (Brandon) Wheeley and Zack Taylor; great grandchildren, Zoe Grace Poley, Titus Poley, Joshua "Teddy" Taylor, Zoe Lynn Munoz, Kai Munoz, Alexia Wheeley and Reef Wheeley; sister, Patricia (Jack) Taylor and brother, John (Nancy) Poley. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Dawsey UMC, directed by the church. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 PM at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House.
