Florence, SC Martha Kate "Katie" Currie, 83, of Florence, SC, died on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Methodist Manor. She was born in Harleyville, SC, daughter of the late Duncan C. Currie and Agnes Fuller Young. She is predeceased by her parents, and a brother, Julian McKinnis Currie. Katie was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Bennettsville, where she loved singing in the choir. She earned a BA degree from Winthrop University. She is survived by her lifelong companion, Linda Louise Heriot; nephew, Steven C. (Caryl) Currie of Dublin, Ohio; niece, L. Ellen (James) Kutzler of El Cajon, California; sister-in-law, Patricia Currie; and three cousins, Margaret Ann Currie King, James William Currie and Ann Workman Penn. Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home has assisted the family in arranging a memorial service for Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 2:00 PM at the Methodist Manor, 2100 Twin Church Road, Florence, SC.
