FLORENCE Martha Goodson Adams, 95, of Florence passed away on February 17, 2011 at Commander Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late David Louie Adams, Jr. Mrs. Adams was born on August 14, 1915, in Darlington County, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas James Goodson, and was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, and one daughter, Helen Adams Galloway. She was a life-long resident of Florence and retired from Florence Manufacturing Company after 35 years of service. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and resided at the Carolinian for the last 14 years. God was most important in her life and she was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She is survived by 3 sons, Thomas Adams and wife, JoAnn of Glen Ellyn, IL; Don Adams and his wife, Linda of Charlotte, NC; and Ron Adams and his wife, Bonnie of Forest, VA; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the Florence National Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Inabinet officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Mark and Anne Adams, 2830 Constitution Drive in Florence Monday evening, from 6:00-8:00 pm.
