Marion Thomas "Tommy" Kennedy, 79, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at MUSC Florence.  Tommy was born in Walterboro, SC, a son of the late Ernest Everett and Beverly McKnight Kennedy.  He retired from Estes Express Lines and was a member of Tans Bay Baptist Church.  Tommy was a "Jack of All Trades" who could fix anything.  He loved being around people and was a true "Social Butterfly" who loved the South Carolina Gamecocks.  He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife, Shirley Hyman Kennedy, and three siblings, Ernest Everett Kennedy, Jr, Lafayette Thomas and Sandra Jean Ward. Tommy is survived by two daughters, Mellissa Kennedy Best (Steven) of Florence and Sheila Kennedy Ham of Timmonsville; two grandchildren, Raven N. Coghlan and Thomas W. Haney; one great grandson, Jeremy Michael Woodward, Jr.; and one brother, Charles Kennedy.  A graveside service, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.  You are able to come pay your respects to Mr. Kennedy from 12-5 PM on Monday, January 11 at the funeral home.  The family will not be present.  In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Tans Bay Baptist Church, 3919 S Irby St, Florence, SC 29505.
