A funeral service for Mr. Marion O'Neil Carmichael, husband of Mrs. Patsy B. Carmichael of Bennettsville will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 13, 2008, in First United Methodist Church in Bennettsville, SC. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Ben M. Gafford. Family members will receive friends immediately following the service in the gathering room of the church. Mr. Carmichael, 73, of Bennettsville, died Thursday, December 11, 2008, in Carolinas Hospital System. He was born November 5, 1935, in Dillon County, SC, to the late Hubert Lee and Zynetta Gressette Carmichael. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and a retiree of Southern Bell Co. Among his survivors in addition to his wife are: Daughters, Mary C. Jones of Florence, and Denise (David) C. Hodge of Darlington; Sons, Marion "Mike" O. Carmichael, II of Fountain Inn, SC, and Lee (Margret) R. Carmichael of Garden City, SC; Sister, Sara (Hop) C. Hopkins of Dillon, SC; Brother, Stuart Carmichael of Dillon, SC; Grandchildren, Candice Carmichael, Cordie Jones, Dylan Carmichael, Gressette Carmichael, and Caden Hodge.
