Marie Rachel Shaw, age 69, passed away April 23, 2025, in Florence S.C at her residence. She was born April 29, 1955, in Englewood, NJ, to the late Joseph Argenti and Joan (Pardi) Argenti. She lived in NJ for 23 years where she met her husband, Richard (Ricky) Shaw, at a party on New Years Eve in 1972, though it would take them 8 years to make it official. They married in South Carolina on July 12, 1980, and lived in Florence until her passing. In 1982, their son, Judson, was born after a difficult pregnancy and delivery. Marie was a dedicated employee of Mcleod Regional Medical Hospital for 35 years in the Accounting Department. She was a devoted Christian and attended Palmetto Street Church of God and was an active member of the Palmetto Street CDL Prayer Warriors. Marie loved animals, especially her dogs. Possums held a special place in her heart as she rescued and loved many over the years. Marie loved stained glass and made beautiful pieces. She loved camping with her brother and gardening in her yard. Family was immensely important to her. As the oldest of eight children, she was always available to help whenever anyone needed her. Marie's grandchildren were the light of her life, and she loved nothing more than spending time with them. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt. Marie was preceded in death by her father, Joseph E Argenti. Surviving is a vast, well-loved family: Her husband of 45 years, Ricky; her son, Judson (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Charles, Marlee, and Judson II; her mother, Joan; her siblings, Pattie, Wally (Perla), Joe (Michelle), Mark (Melanie), Melissa (Tom), Jeanine, and Peter; her nieces and nephews, Jason (Caroline), Nicole (Wesley), Jennifer (Jason), Joey (Brittney), Alex, Janay, Thomas, Taylor, Lauren, Joseph, Ryan, Marcus, and Mark; her great nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Sage, Griffin and Thalia; and her Sister in Law, Susan (Hugh). The family will receive friends from 11am-1pm with the Memorial Service immediately following on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Cain Calcutt Funeral home.
