Margaret Dukes (Moore) Shirlaw, 96, of Florence, SC, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025.  She was born in Williamsburg County, SC, daughter of the late Doris and Ila McCants Dukes.  In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her first husband, Harry M. Moore in 1980, her second husband, Ronald Shirlaw in 2017, her son, Steven M. Moore; daughter, Lynne Bryan; a brother, Heyward Dukes; and three sisters, Wil Easler, Ann Kirby and Doretha Philips.

Mrs. Moore graduated from Greelyville High School and moved to Columbia to attend and graduated from Draughon's Business College where she met Mr. Moore and then they moved to Florence and opened Moore's Grocery, where she continued to run the store until his death.  She was a charter member of Highland Park United Methodist Church and did numerous volunteer jobs with McLeod Hospital and at Highland Park UMC.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Michael Barnes (Becky), Shannon Brothers (Daniel) and Christopher Moore (Amanda); eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Bobby Dukes (Toby) and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Highland Park United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:30 PM at the church prior to the service.  A private Interment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
