Margaret Kelly Miller, 95, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Carolinas Hospital in Florence. She was born in Darlington, SC, a daughter of the late Vance Nelson Kelly and Matilda Watson Kelly. She is also predeceased by two husbands, John Carter and Jim Miller. She has been a member of Southside Baptist Church since 1952. She loved her family and enjoyed gardening and cooking. She never met a stranger. She is survived by her children, Pete Oliver of Oregon, John M. (Nancy) Carter of Effingham, Barry N. (Brenda) Carter of Florence and Maureen "Monnie" (Mike) Pope of Summerton; three sisters, Odessa (Son) Blackmon of Florence, Christine McIntosh of Lynchburg and Lois Wallace of Darlington; a brother, Willard (Pearl) Kelly of Florence; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2017, in the Chapel of Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. Burial will be at 4:00 PM in the Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service.
