Marcia Ryan Cooper, 81, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Mrs. Cooper was born in Farmville, Virginia a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Hughes and Lorraine Hiatt Hughes. She was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple where she sang in the choir and worked in the Reformers Unanimous Ministry.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Ray “Pete” Cooper; sons, Michael Ryan (Candace), Robert Ryan (Heidi) and P.J. Cooper (Jessica); daughter, Erin Roscoe (Larry); and grandchildren, Morgan, Jacob, Ava, Cara, and Colin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502, www.mcleodfoundation.org or to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm Monday, November 2, 2026 at the Florence Baptist Temple with the service to be held at 2:00 pm at the church. Entombment will follow in the Mount Hope Mausoleum directed by Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home.
