Louise Martha Rest Bauknight, 93, of Florence, S.C., died Friday, July 8, 2016 at Methodist Manor. She was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, a daughter of the late Karl Wilhelm and Bertha Leiscy Rest. She was a graduate of Illinois State University. Mrs. Bauknight was an accomplished teacher in the Florence County School System where she taught German and English. She enjoyed reading and playing the piano. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, William Bauknight of Florence, S.C.; three children, Karl William Bauknight (Carol) of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; Stephen Terrence Bauknight (Nancy) of Ellicott City, MD; Rebecca Bauknight Hopkins (Bob) of North Augusta, S.C.; three grandchildren, Michael Wesley Bauknight, Stephen Howell Bauknight, and William Cathcart (Leah) Hopkins. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Methodist Manor. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
