Logan "Shorty" Dingle, Sr., 88, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.  He was born in Manning, SC, a son of the late Lucille and Herbert Dingle.  He is also predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Dingle; 2 sons, Logan Dingle, Jr. and Michael Dingle; and two sisters-in-law, Gloria Dingle and Jimmy Dingle.

Mr. Dingle was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses.  He worked for American Cyanamid/Cytec in Wallingford, Connecticut and he also worked in construction for many years, building bridges all over South Carolina, as well as schools in Connecticut.  He liked working on cars in his spare time.  He was a master storyteller and loved to laugh.  He loved taking care of his family and doing things for them, and he also did all he could to show hospitality and generosity to his extended family and friends.

Surviving is his wife of 69 years, Eutha Mae Williams Dingle; four sons, Odell Dingle (Melinda), Herbert Dingle (Carolyn), Mitchell Dingle and Kevin Dingle (Stephanie); two brothers, Millard Dingle and Elbert Dingle; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 3:00 PM in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 125 Alligator Road, Effingham, SC 29541.
