Mrs. Lillian Dean Purvis Bigelow, 90, of Florence, SC, died on Wednesday, 29 October at McLeod Hospital, Florence, SC surrounded by family. She was born on February 24, 1935, in Florence County, SC to the late Whiteford Liston and Mary Elizabeth Turner Purvis. She was predeceased by her five brothers, three sisters, and her husband, Charlie Myers Bigelow.

Lillian graduated from Hannah–Pamplico High School, SC. She married Charlie Myers Bigelow on 14 August 1954. Early in her life she worked in Retail Sales and as a Bookkeeper. She was a devoted Homemaker. She loved taking care of her family and raising her boys, she was active and supportive in their school and many activities. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was an outstanding seamstress. She loved going to play Bingo and was an avid reader. She loved her dog pets and is survived by "Trouble". She was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church, Florence, SC.

Among her survivors are: oldest son, "Andy" Charlie Anthony (Suzanne) Bigelow of Sumter, SC; Grandchildren: Chrystina Bigelow of Nashville, TN and Sharlee (Reid) Jenkins of Ridge Top, TN, and one Great Granddaughter, Scarlett Jenkins; and youngest son, Mark Eugene Bigelow of Florence, SC.

Family members will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, 10 November at Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home, 512 2nd Loop Road, Florence, SC 29505. Funeral service and interment for Lillian Dean Purvis Bigelow will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, 11 November at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Florence, SC. The family suggests memorials to the charity of your choice.
