Darlington, SC Leo J. Ard, 70, of Darlington, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Carolinas Hospital in Florence, SC after an illness. He was born April 20, 1942 in Johnsonville, SC to the late Ruell P. and Trudy Mabel Ard Prosser. Leo was a man who loved his family. He also loved his boat and was an avid fisherman with Jack's Creek at Santee being his most favorite fishing spot. Leo had an energy and a zest for life and he was always smiling. He loved cooking for his family and friends. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Priscilla Coe and brothers, Virgil Dale Prosser and Lawrence Aaron Prosser. Survivors include: daughters - Lori Ard of Myrtle Beach, SC, Julie (Aaron) Gandy of Effingham, SC, Donna Ward of Johnsonville, SC, Cindy Davis of Houston, TX and Sandra Rogers of Lydia, SC; sons - David M. Ard of Johnsonville, SC and Jeffery (Tammy) Boseman of Florence, SC; sisters - Dena Poston of Hartsville, SC, Angie (Donnie) Coker of Johnsonville, SC, Suzanne (Lamar) Taylor and Tenie McElveen both of Effingham, SC; brothers - Phillip (Pam) Prosser of Timmonsville, SC and Jimmy (Cindy) Prosser of Darlington, SC; 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
