Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Ward, 56, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in New York.  He was born in Meriden, Connecticut, a son of Patricia Ward McCarty.  He is predeceased by a son, Cameron Joseph Ward and a brother, William J. Bernardo, and his grandparents with whom he had a very special relationship, Thomas Francis and Margaret "Peggy" Ward.

Larry served his country for 8 years, during Desert Storm, with the United States Marine Corp.  He enjoyed cooking, camping and fishing, but he loved most of all spending time with his family.  He never met a stranger and always had a laugh ready for whoever needed it.

Surviving is his mother, Patricia W. McCarty, and step-father, Gordan W. McCarty; his wife of 16 years, Shannon Rowell Ward; children, Andrew Korey Ward (fiancée, Stephanie L. Matthews) , Chandler Ashton Ward, Hannah Mackenzi Ward, Briley Legrant Ward (Mackenzie), Cohen Anthony Ward and Emmagrace Ann Ward; brother, Daniel T. Bernardo; sister, Ronette L. Daniels; step-sister, Shelley McCarty; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
