Larry Smith Jackson, age 74, died February 18, 2010 in his home. A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20 at Cain Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Carolina Children's Home, 3201 Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29204. Mr. Jackson was born in Laurens, SC, on June 9, 1935 and grew up in Summerton and Columbia, SC. He was a son of the late Lee Roy and Hazel Jackson of Columbia, SC. He went to Columbia high School and attended The Citadel and the University of South Carolina. He was a founding partner with Dickie Marshburn of J & M Supply Company in Florence, SC. He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn J. Abbott and husband, Doug of Princeton, TX; his son, William M. Jackson and wife, Elizabeth of Darlington, SC; his grandson, Michael Abbott of Princeton, TX; his brother, Lee Roy Jackson, Jr. and wife, Helen of Arcola, TX; family friend, Mike Carter of Florence, SC; the mother of his children, Rebecca Bennett of Columbia, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
