The family will recieve friends Monday from 6:30-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Jennifer D. Corbin P.O. Box 1516 Florence, SC 29503. Pastor Corbin, 58, died May 30, 2009, in the sanctuary of his beloved Apostolics of Florence Church while preparing for Sunday church services. He was born February 24, 1951, in Sioux City, IA, to Phyllis "Bobbye" Powell Corbin, and the late Ruel Albert "Mike" Corbin. He was employed by the City of Florence as a heavy equipment operator. In the past, he was a motorcycle mechanic at Doug's Harley Davidson in Florence. During the last several years, Pastor Corbin operated "Motorcycle Repair and a Prayer" repairing, rebuilding, and restoring vintage Harley Davidson and Indian motorcycles for clients from New York to Florida. Just last week, he finished a 1957 Harley Davidson restoration project to be featured in a national motorcycle magazine. Pastor Corbin "or Preacher as his friends called him" was the founder and spiritual bedrock of Apostolics of Florence Church for over 25 years. He performed numerous "old fashioned" Christian Baptisms in Lynches River, he successfully witnessed to hundreds of people, and he passionately preached, lived, and believed in the Holy Bible as the word of God. The poor, hungry, sick, and homeless were God's precious people to him. With the merciful grace of God, Preacher changed from a "Rough and Tumble" motorcycle gang member to a devoted servant of God, tirelessly spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ as a renowned traveling evangelist throughout the southeastern United States. Pastor Corbin knew how to touch lost souls. Shortly before his sudden death, the Lord allowed him to walk both of his daughters down the aisle in marriage and proudly watch each graduate from college. His family and friends will deeply miss a truly unique and inspiring Christian servant. God speed, Preacher. Survivors in addition to his loving wife are: daughters Victoria C. Caulder, and Laura C. Rogers both of Florence; brothers Daryl J. Corbin, and Rodney A. Corbin both of Florence; sister Debra C. Farmer of Florence; Grandchild Amber Corbin; and several nieces and nephews.
