Kent Payne Whitesell, 74, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

Mr. Whitesell was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, a son of the late Elwood Whitesell and Mary Alice Payne Whitesell.  He was known for his kindness and sweetness to others and loved his grandchildren dearly.  Kent always put others first, especially his dear wife, Jennifer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mark Whitesell; and sister, Kay Dymond.

Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Jean Brown Whitesell; step-son, Jeremy Appel; step-daughter, Jacquelyn Rinish; a number of grandchildren, including Kasey Appel who lived with them; brother, Scott Whitesell; sister, Robin Stredny; and a number of nieces and nephews, who were very attentive to Kent and Jennifer during his illness; and dearest friend/brother, George Walker.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
