A memorial service with Masonic Rites will be held for Mr. Kenneth "Ken" Dewane Cowart Sr., husband of Linda V. Cowart at 2:00 PM, Wednesday July 1, 2009, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ben Maynard. The family will receive friends at the church after the service. Mr. Cowart, 61, died June 28, 2009, at a local healthcare facility. He was born May 21, 1948, in Franklin, NC, to the late John William Cowart and Bonnie Green Lawson. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, and of Hampton Masonic Lodge # 204 AF & AM. Mr. Cowart was employed as truck shop manager for Vulcraft. Surviving in addition to his wife are: sons, Kenneth Dewane Cowart Jr. of Gastonia, NC, and Richard James Cowart of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Donna C. Johnson of Ballground, GA; grandchildren, Nicole S. Cowart, Erica C. Akes, and Courtney C. Dennis; and 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tommy W. Cowart of Conway, SC and Johnny F.
