A funeral service for Mr. Kenneth Eugene Boykin, Sr., husband of Amelia Smith Boykin, will be at 1:00PM, Saturday March 7, 2009 in Cain Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Ellison Felder. Interment at Florence Memorial Gardens, conducted by Andrea Arthur. The family will receive friends Friday, March 6, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 at the funeral home. Mr. Boykin, Sr., 70, of Florence, died Thursday March 5, 2009, at his residence after an illness. He was born November 24, 1938, in Wilson, NC, to the late Marion Ralph and Sydney Thorn Boykin. He was also predeceased by a brother, James Boykin. He was a member of Jehovah's Witness West Florence Congregation. He retired from Lance in 2001, after 32 years of service. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: son, Kenneth "Kenny" Boykin Jr. of Florence; daughter, Erin (Blaine) Lyons of Walterboro, SC; brothers, Marion Boykin, Jr. and Clarence Boykin both of Norfolk, VA; and sister, Loretta Price of Myrtle Beach, SC.
