Kenneth Ray Bell, 76, of Effingham, SC, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025, at his residence with his family by his side. Mr. Bell was born in Harlingen, TX, a son of the late Norval Kenneth and Bertie Cleo James Bell. He served his country during the Vietnam Era in the US Navy and retired as Project Manager from Day and Zimmerman and was employed there through several previous company transitions. Mr. Bell was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Florence where he played bass in the church band. He was an avid golfer and musician who loved cooking and the occasional cross-stitching pattern.
He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by two brothers, Richard "Dicky" Bell and Gary Wayne Bell, a sister, Kathleen "Kat" Bell Marshall and a brother-in-law, Skip Voodre.
Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Catherine Ann Furstenberg Bell; two sons, Tim (Kristin) Bell and Corey (Julie) Bell; a daughter, Lisa Bell (Michael Scott) Morgan; a sister, Donna Bell Voodre; a brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Marshall; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 30, 2025 in the chapel of Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home with interment to follow with military honors in the Florence National Cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM just prior to the services at the funeral home.
