Obituary

Kate Butler Drummond died at Florence Presbyterian Home on Friday, February 17, 2012. She was the wife of the late Paul S. Drummond of Woodruff, S.C. Born on April 16, 1907 in Duncan, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Clark D. Butler and Cleo Zimmerman Butler. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a compassionate friend to all. She was a graduate of Greer High School and Letcher Business College of Gadsden, Alabama. A member of Woodruff Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, she was a former Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and an active member of the Women of the Church. Mrs. Drummond is survived by a son, Dr. Jim Drummond (Brenda) of Burlington, N.C.; one daughter, Jeanne Watts (Mike) of Florence, S.C.; two grandsons, Justin Watts(Lauren) of Murfreesboro, TN; Jeffrey Watts of Greenville, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Chase Watts and Kendall Watts, both of Murfreesboro, TN. Mrs. Drummond was predeceased by four brothers, Edward, Grady, Robert and Frank Butler, and three sisters, Margaret West, Laura Henderson, and Helen Moore. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Woodruff Presbyterian Cemetery, 321 West Georgia Street in Woodruff. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Woodruff, 360 East Georgia Street, Woodruff, S.C. 29388 or to the Florence Presbyterian Communities, 2350 West Lucas Street, Florence, S.C. 29501.
