Karen “Keefee” Elaine Keefe, 64, of Florence, passed away on June 24, 2026.

Born in Florence County, SC she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Lewis Keefe and Juanita Matthews Keefe Player. Keefee was the life of the party, who had never met a stranger. She loved being with people and made most of them her friends. She retired from Nucor Steel after 28 years of service. She remained busy after retirement, flipping houses and properties, and working several other part-time jobs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her step-father, J.D. Player, who she loved as her own father.

Surviving are her nephew, Sean Michael Keefe; longtime dear friends, Felicia Lane, Barbie McKinnon, Vickie Morris, and Robin Camlin; special cousins, Donna Martin and Wayne Keefe; brother, Ben Keefe; and numerous other cousins and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 pm Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date in Charleston.
