A funeral service for June Nettles Ard ,widow of Charles B. Ard will be at 1:00PM Friday April 9, 2010 in Cain Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Lee Patrick. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Ard, 79, died Wednesday April 7, 2010 in a local nursing home after a long illness. She was born, June 30, 1930 in Darlington, one of eleven children, to the late Solomon Clyde and Eunice Knight Nettles. She was also predeceased by daughter, Cherokee Ard Viola. She lived in the Lake City area in her early years. She married Charles Ard Sept. 14, 1948 and he died December 1995. Mrs. Ard was an active and loving charter member of First Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are: daughter, Shannon Jordan of Florence; grandchildren, Ainsley Anne Jordan (Kris) Glotzback, Cara June Viola Vidal, Richard D. Viola, III; great-grandchildren, Annabella Glotzback, Sarah Katherine Glozback, John Glotzback, Isaiah Vidal; sisters, Mildred N. (McNeil) Robinson of Turbeville, Ruth N. (A.D.) Harden of Taylors, SC; brothers, Donald (Doris) Nettles of Ladson, SC, Davis (Helen) Nettles of El Cajon, CA; sister in law, Henrietta P. Nettles of Florence
