Julie McElveen Moody, 79, of Florence, SC passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022.  She was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Rosa Lee Carnell McElveen.  She is predeceased by her parents; her husband. James Heyward Moody; five brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Moody was a lifelong member of the Florence Baptist Temple and was retired from AT&T.  After her retirement, she worked for Aaronic (now Allied Answering Service).

Surviving is her son, Curtis Lynn (Kathy) Stephens, Jr.; daughter, Kristi Ann Hatchell; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene McElveen and Jimmy McElveen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Florence Baptist Temple.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the Baptist Temple prior to the service.  A private Interment will be held at Florence Memorial Gardens at a later time.
