Joyce Faye Leach Kirven, 77, of Effingham, SC passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

Mrs. Kirven was born in Florence, SC a daughter of the late Myrtis Wise Leach and James Emerson Leach, Sr.  She earned her Associates Degree from Florence Darlington Technical College and had worked for Bruce Hospital as a Medical Transcriptionist.  Joyce retired from Lowes Physical Therapy after 22 years.    She was a member of Tabernacle Church of Pamplico for most of her life, was an avid reader and took care of her mother for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lida (Billy) Sims.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Charles Allen Kirven, Sr.; daughters, Renee (Odell) Garrison and Belva (Brandon) Hancock; son, Chuck (Lauren) Kirven, Jr.; grandchildren, Abigail (John) Merchant, Cassidy Garrison, Annabelle Kirven, and Allen Kirven; brother, James (Sheila) Leach, II; sister, Bonnie (George) Stuber; a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am Monday, September 15, 2025 at Tabernacle Church of Pamplico with the service to be held at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
