A funeral service for Joseph William Zoldak, Sr., husband of Margaret L. Zoldak will be at 3 PM Friday, October 16, 2009, in Cain Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital 950 W. Faris Rd. Greenville, SC 29605, or charity of one's choice. Mr. Zoldak, 90, died October 13, 2009, in a local healthcare facility after an extended illness. He was born March 18, 1919, in Cornwall NY, to the late Jacob T. and Area Burger Zoldak . Including his parents he was predeceased by his step-son, Frederick E. Maute; brothers, Jack Zoldak, Harry Zoldak, and Robert Zoldak. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts of America, Pee Dee Shriners, York Rite #10, and Amnity Lodge #340 F.A.M.. He was also a Y Indian Guide Chief in Cornwall, NY. Survivors include: sons, Steven Zoldak of Portsmouth, NH, Joseph William Zoldak Jr. of Oxford, MA, and Jonathan N. Zoldak of Fredericksburg, VA; daughter, Shirley Z. Fratantonio of Naugatuck, CT; step-daughter, Joyce D. Smith of Florence, SC; and 13 grandchildren.
