Joseph Leland Skinner, Jr., 82, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House. He was born in Nash County, NC, a son of the late Joseph Leland Skinner, Sr. and Dorothy Kirkland Ward Skinner. He is also predeceased by his wife, Patricia Bailey Skinner. He served in the US Army Air National Guard and worked with Atlantic Coast Railroad from 1955 until 1965. He then changed careers and worked as a realtor with the SC Real Estate Commission until 2018. He was a broker with Skinner Realty and Skinner Associates, Inc. and was a member of the National Association of Realtors where he received the Status Realtor Emeritus. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Pee Dee Shrine Club/Omar Shrine, where he was a past Provost Guard Director and Jester. He was a member of Friendship UMC, where he was a past youth leader. Surviving are two daughters, Angela (Steven) Skinner Morganti and Shay Skinner; two grandsons, Joseph Timothy Triston Gregory and Heston Gregory; two sisters, Jacqueline Skinner Medley and Peggy (Curtis) Skinner Rose; his significant other, Elizabeth Briggs; and several nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Friendship UMC or to the McLeod Hospice House.
