Joseph Francis Comerford, 85, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.  He was born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late John and Margurite Cannon Comerford.

Mr. Comerford was retired from DuPont and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Doris H. Comerford.

Surviving are his son, Dr. Charles Comerford (Kristin); daughter, Deborah Ann "Debbie" Comerford Mercado (Joel); three grandchildren, Dillon, Hailey and Carson; and his sister, Mary Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at National Cemetery, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  A Christian Wake Service will be at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM.
